Conflict of natural resources ultimately involve a group of armed civilians who suspected insurgents part of the West Papua National Army (TPN PB) who attacked and killed an employee of PT Dharma Mukti Persada and 5th Mobile Brigade personnel who served in the CV VAtika Papuana Perkasa past April and June 2001 . Police immediately responded and held a sweeping operation to hunt down armed civilian groups.
